Dylan is one month old!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to our blog! Based on the example set by numerous friends of ours it seems obligatory these days to start a blog once you welcome a baby into your family. We are a little late in getting this online journal up and running but we've been a little busy taking care of a little boy named Dylan Philip...

It's hard to believe but it has been a whole month since our son was born. We still look at him and can't believe he is ours. And how happy we are that he is!

It has been a month of growing...For those who have forgotten, Dylan was born on May 12th, 2008 at 2:26 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs., 3 oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long. Today Dylan weighs 9 lbs., 1 oz. and is 22 inches long!

It has been a month of learning...how to treat diaper rash, how to give a newborn a bath, how to massage a clogged tear duct, how to soothe a crying Dylan, and how to live with less sleep but more joy. We are learning to be parents and Dylan is learning about this crazy world.

It has been a month of wonder...at the miracle of every hiccup, squeal, and cry, at the great joy that someone so tiny can bring to so many people, and at how far and fast newborn poop can shoot across a room!

It has also been a month of visitors! Dylan is a very popular little boy. In the hospital Dylan was visited by Mimi, Papa, Nonna, GG Mum, Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Dave. Since then he's also had visits from Aunt Michelle, cousins Isabelle, Scarlett, Katie, and Grace, Great Aunt Lorraine and 2nd cousins Julie and Ryan. Uncle Ben, Aunt Emily (and cousin #5-to-be!), Uncle Andrew and his girlfriend Alexandria all traveled from upstate NY (Canandaigua and Syracuse) to meet him!! Some of our friends have also traveled to meet Dylan...Lauren and Chris Sweatman, Rebecca Anderson, and Heather Cyr and boyfriend Jan all drove from New England. Keep the visits coming - we love to show off our handsome boy!
