Playdate with Kai
Erin is a coworker friend of mine who found out she was pregnant soon after I did (there were 3 of us in the PT department pregnant at the same time!). Her son, Kai, was born 6 weeks after Dylan (yes, Dylan has lots of friends right around his age, all boys, which is good considering all his cousins are girls!). On Monday, Dylan and I visited Erin and Kai.

Here they are on Kai's playmat. Just checkin' out the animals.
Kai looks a little concerned that Dylan might steal his elephant...
Word to my mother. 'Nuff said...

A Very Busy Sunday
Last Sunday my friend from Williams, Elizabeth and her husband James (also an Eph!) stopped by for a quick visit to say hi and meet Dylan. They live in Boston (well, Somerville really) but were in the area for a wedding. It was great to see them! When the conversation turned to our experiences with the birth of Dylan and life as new parents, I think we sufficiently scared them into waiting at least a few years before taking their own plunge into parenthood!
Scarlett says, "I'm just too busy to sit here and smile."
Gracie and Isabelle say, "Scarlett, sit still!"
Dylan teaching the girls how to play piano.
Male bonding.

Big Shirl's 30th Birthday!
Rob planned a surprise party for Big Shirl on Randall's Island in NYC. The day included a beer/wine garden and mini golf, apparently one of Shirley's favorite pastimes. Here's Dylan all dressed up and ready to play some mini golf:
Here's a family photo. We tried to tell Dylan to look at the camera but he was too busy checking out the trees blowing in the wind.

Rob and Shirl told us they plan to use this as their 2008 Hannukah Card;)

New Friends!
When Tim and I first moved to Westchester, I met a small group of 5 newlywed women through the website thenest.com. We get together about once a month to hang out and chat. When we first met, just one of the women (Rikki) was pregnant. Now three of us are mommies! We got together on Thursday for a playdate at Rikki's house. Her daughter, McKenna, is a year old. William, who is Joyce's son, is just 6 weeks younger than Dylan. Here are our attempts to get them all in a picture...

Sandra!!
On Wednesday, my good friend Sandra from Williams stopped by to say hi and to meet Dylan. Sandra is in grad school in Massachusetts but is leaving for a year-long internship in San Francisco. She was only able to stay for a couple of hours but it was so good to see her! And Dylan thought so too!
Stay tuned for more visits from Wiliams friends over the next few days!

- the big move from sleeping in the cradle in our room to the crib in his own room
He is getting to be such a big boy!!

Another Playdate with Cy!!
On Saturday, Adam and Maya invited us to spend the day at Adam's parents' lakehouse, about an hour from our house. At first, Dylan wasn't so sure about this new place.
But Cy was a very gracious host and offered to share his toys with Dylan.
Turns out they didn't need any toys at all...they've got hands and feet to explore!

Fun with cousins!
Yesterday, Mimi and Papa had all their kids and grandkids over for dinner. Dylan's great-grandpa (Mimi's dad) was there too. No special occasion, just a great chance to get together. Papa barbequed, Mimi made some macaroni, and we all hung out in the shade of the backyard.

Great-grandpa loves any chance to tell us he loves the name we chose!
Aunt Lisa stealing some time from Mimi (a.k.a. the baby hog), to hold her nephew...
Grace, Isabelle, and Katie: Everybody say cheese!
Again!

What am I gonna do with all these girl cousins? Will somebody please have a boy for me to play with?
