A Delayed Happy Birthday!
Somehow these pictures got posted before I was able to write any captions! Blogger and my computer were both acting wonky. Thanks to Tim for reinstalling windows on my ancient laptop and giving it a 3rd or 4th life. Anyway, here are the captions:)

When I say "GHETTO!", you say "CAKE!". GHETTO! CAKE! GHETTO! CAKE! Only Lisa will get that one. But I'm pretty sure she is the only one who reads this blog. Well, besides my Laurens.
Happy birthday family photo!

Let's review...
So, yes, I haven't updated the blog in a looooooong time. My longest absence yet! Life is busy, but wonderful! What have you missed?
We celebrated Dylan's third birthday with a party on May 7th!
We celebrated my third Mother's Day!
We celebrated Dylan's real third birthday (May 12th)! (Yes, he's wearing Christmas pajamas:)
Hope to be back with an update soon - Nora turns ONE YEAR OLD in 6 days!

St. Patrick's Day festivities
I don't think I had ever been to a St. Patrick's Day parade before this year. Then this year, we went to two! The first was a local one in Peekskill that we went to on a whim, when my friend, Kathleen suggested that we meet her and her kids there. Kathleen is the friend that I "babyshare" with - I watch Jack (three in May) and Kaleigh (17 months) on Monday afternoons so she can work and she watches Dylan and Nora on Thursday afternoons so I can work. Here we are with all four kids (Tim's taking the pic). Later, Kathleen's husband, Billy, met up with us and the 8 of us stormed a local restaurant for a few beers (for us) and dinner (for the kids). It was a fun, last minute day out!

The next day we drove out to my sister’s in Center Moriches (on Long Island) to celebrate Papa’s birthday, which was the next day, and to march in her town’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. Dylan and his cousins all got to ride on the Safari Adventure float (which was really just the back of a pick-up truck)!
Kieran (my cousin, Jeff's, son), Katie, Scarlett, and Dylan:

Later, back at Lisa’s, Dylan refused to take off his Safari T-shirt or his coat and so continued to resemble a mini football player.

All the Frisone cousins (some more willingly than others!): Dylan, Katie, Nora, Grace, Isabelle, Madeleine, Scarlett, and Brian!
Happy Birthday to Papa! (and to me, too:)
Nora rode in Aunt Lisa’s jogging stroller...but only for a little while. It was cold out there and I wound up taking her back to Lisa’s for a nap while Tim “marched” behind the float.
It was pretty chilly but sunny enough for the kids to play outside for a bit before dinner. Nora enojyed her first real swing ride!

Playing Catch-up with Jan. and Feb...
Since adding 6 more hours to my work week (i.e. doubling my work hours to a whopping 12!) plus watching my friend Kathleen's two kids for 5 hours on Mondays (she watches mine on Thursdays in exchange) it seems like my life has gotten 3x crazier. Maybe it's because of all the paperwork that's required on top of the actual clinical work (which means I've added much more than 6 work hours to my week). All this craziness means late nights, early mornings, and little time for recording life. But here I am - a rare moment when both kids are in their cribs (Nora napping and Dylan reading books) - back on the blog. It's a little intimidating. So much to catch up on! I will touch on the highlights...
We rang in the new year at Safari Adventure in Riverhead (owned by my brother and cousin) with all of Dylan's Frisone cousins. They had a kids "midnight" countdown at 7 p.m., complete with balloon drop! Dylan had a blast.
So did Nora:)
We took a quick trip to Weedsport to celebrate Tim's birthday and so the kids could see their Nonna. Dylan got to sleep in a big boy bed there and did a great job!
We took a second trip to Safari Adventure to celebrate Grace’s 5th birthday. Dylan, of course, was thrilled. And I cannot believe Grace is FIVE! Time flies…

Sometime around mid-January, Nora began sitting independently! Happy girl!
In other Nora news, she turned 7 months and then 8 months (still haven’t taken that pic yet!).
Also, ever since Dylan realized he could make Nora smile and laugh, he has been much more willing to interact with his baby sister. He loves going in to greet her in the morning and after her naps. And he gives her kisses much more willingly.
More big news in Dylan’s world is that he is (mostly) potty trained! We are so, so, so proud of him! He wears big boy underwear during the day and a diaper at night, just in case. Most mornings he wakes up dry and asks to go pee-pee on the potty first thing. We still have a little work to do in the “other” department, but I’m happy to put him a diaper when he has "that" type of business to take care of...we will get there!
On nights when Tim and I are both home for bath time, Dylan and Nora have begun taking their baths together. At first Dylan wasn’t so sure about this idea and it took a good 15 minutes of convincing, but he finally got in. The very next night he asked to share his bath again. See Dylan, we told you having a sister would be fun!
Nora’s hair is now long enough to get into pigtails – though still not thick enough to keep them in for any reasonable amt of time! She is also starting to try to crawl: rocking on her hands and knees, throwing her legs out behind her, getting onto her hands and tip toes, all while not really getting anywhere. She does roll and pivot all over the place though. I think she will be crawling for real any day now!

There! Now we are sort of up to date! I feel so much better. Hope to see you sooner than later!

Christmas Day at Home!
This year we hosted Nonna, Uncle Andrew, Uncle Ben, Aunt Emily, Sophia, Rylan, Mimi and Papa for Christmas day. I LOVE being home for Christmas and having family here with us!
Here's how the living room looked when Santa finally left at 2 a.m. on Christmas morning!
When Dylan came downstairs in the morning, he got right down to business with his new car ramp...
