Fun-filled Fall Weekend, Part II

On Saturday morning we headed up to the farmers' market in Cold Spring. On our way home, we stopped in at Fahnstock State Park for a little hike in the woods - with Dylan on piggyback!
I like how you can see Tim's shadow:)

Fun-Filled Fall Weekend, Part I

The weekend before last (the last weekend in September, for those keeping track), Tim took Friday off and we had several fun adventures.

The first was a trip to the Rockwood Hall section of Rockefeller State Park. Getting there was an adventure in itself, since we could NOT find the entrance to this (free) section of the park (it is totally hidden behind Phelps Memorial Hospital for those who are interested). Once we got started, though, we had a great time. Dylan especially liked this collection of acorns and rocks at the trailhead.
Of course, we must line them all up perfectly.
This is an area where Rockefeller used to have an estate. Now it's just gorgeous land with a gorgeous view of the Hudson River.
Rockefeller family portrait. Aren't we so unassuming and humble?
I don't remember what we were looking at. A flower maybe?
Coolest tree ever!
All those branches and trunks belong to one, single tree!
Awesome, awesome tree, we love you...

Day at the Farm

A few weeks ago, we spent the day at Barton Orchards, just 45 minutes north of us - we had a great time!

Dylan loved the hayride and cried when it was over:(
That's a LOT of pumpkins...
This looks like a good one:)
CRUNCHY APPLES!
Pickin' apples on daddy's shoulders...

We didn't get any pics of the birthday lady or of the group who celebrated with her. Those with the fancy cameras took more pics - but we haven't gotten copies of those...

I'll be back with September updates sooooooon...
