Hangin' with Cy...

Last weekend we took another trip to Cy's grandparents' house on Candlewood Lake. In addition to Adam and Maya, our other friends, Pete and Mary-Jo were there. Dylan LOVED Pete (wish I had gotten a pic of Dylan just staring at him - we forgot our camera, so these pics are from Maya and Adam's) and I think Mary-Jo had fun playing with the babies:)

"Hey Cy! Pay me attention! We drove an hour to get here - and you know how I feel about my carseat!"

"Look, Cy! I can stand just like you!"

"Okay, that's enough attention, Cy."

"Mom? Mom? I think Cy might be trying to eat my face! And who is this lady holding me?"
"Woah Mommy, that was a close one...When can we come back?"

4 months old and first family vacation!

This past Friday, Dylan turned 4 months old!

That same day, we also hit the road for our first famly vacation, a weekend reunion for my father, his siblings and cousins, and their families. This year, we convened at the Friar Tuck Inn and Resort, in Catskill, NY. The weather wasn't perfect, facilities could use a little updating, and the resort was kind of empty as the summer is now over, but none of us minded at all. We had a great time just being together!

"I have dibs on this bed. Now, Mom and Dad where are you going to sleep?"

Fun times in the indoor pool! Dylan was a little cautious but seemed to really like the water. Here he is with me, surrounded by family! Clockwise from bottom left are Katie, Isabelle, Uncle Dave with Scarlett, Uncle Brian, and Mimi.

Daddy was so excited to get Dylan in the water!

And Mimi was just happy to get her hands on her grandson anytime she could!

Katie and Grace love to watch me feed Dylan...

...and to help me change his diaper.

The only way to keep Scarlett entertained and in one place for more than 2 seconds...Don't worry Papa, her Daddy's done this a million times.

Our family's table (minus Tim, who is taking ths picture) - so much love.

Talking with Dylan

A fun conversation between Dylan, Mommy, and Daddy. We were getting him ready for his bath, which is why he's naked on his changing table!

Introducing...

...Dylan's new cousin! On August 28, 2008, Ben (Tim's brother) and his wife Emily welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Sophia Aurelia Young! She weighed in at 6 lbs., 9 oz. Isn't she beautiful? Congratulations to Ben and Emily and a big welcome to Sophia - we can't wait to meet you!

Playdate with Kai

Erin is a coworker friend of mine who found out she was pregnant soon after I did (there were 3 of us in the PT department pregnant at the same time!). Her son, Kai, was born 6 weeks after Dylan (yes, Dylan has lots of friends right around his age, all boys, which is good considering all his cousins are girls!). On Monday, Dylan and I visited Erin and Kai.

Here's a pic of Erin trying out my baby wrap with Kai. She loved it so much, so I gave it to her! (I have 2 more at home:)
Here they are on Kai's playmat. Just checkin' out the animals.
Kai looks a little concerned that Dylan might steal his elephant...
Word to my mother. 'Nuff said...

A Very Busy Sunday

Last Sunday my friend from Williams, Elizabeth and her husband James (also an Eph!) stopped by for a quick visit to say hi and meet Dylan. They live in Boston (well, Somerville really) but were in the area for a wedding. It was great to see them! When the conversation turned to our experiences with the birth of Dylan and life as new parents, I think we sufficiently scared them into waiting at least a few years before taking their own plunge into parenthood!
Later in the day we headed to Mimi and Papa's for Sunday dinner with my brother and sister and their kids and my grandpa. We were finally able to get a few shots of all 5 grandkids together. That's Katie (4 1/2) holding Dylan and her sister Grace (2 1/2) sitting next to her. They are my sister's daughters. On the right is Scarlett (15 months) and Isabelle (2 1/2), my brother's daughters. Scarlett, look at the camera!

Scarlett says, "I'm just too busy to sit here and smile."

Gracie and Isabelle say, "Scarlett, sit still!"

Dylan teaching the girls how to play piano.

Male bonding.

Big Shirl's 30th Birthday!

Last Saturday we attended our friend Shirley's 30th birthday celebration! Shirley is the wife of Rob, an old friend of both mine and Tim's. I went to middle and high school with Rob (though he was Robby back then!). Tim went to Tufts with Rob, where they were roommates for 2 years. When Tim and I met, we realized we had an old friend in common! Anyway, Rob married a wonderful woman named Shirley and we just love this couple to pieces. We are sad though because they just left NY for Boston, where Rob is completing his fellowship in Cardiology at MGH.

Rob planned a surprise party for Big Shirl on Randall's Island in NYC. The day included a beer/wine garden and mini golf, apparently one of Shirley's favorite pastimes. Here's Dylan all dressed up and ready to play some mini golf:

Here's a family photo. We tried to tell Dylan to look at the camera but he was too busy checking out the trees blowing in the wind.
Rob and Shirl told us they plan to use this as their 2008 Hannukah Card;)
